With 513 guestrooms, the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa offers the greatest number of ocean front rooms on the entire island. This Marriott on Hilton Head Island, SC underwent a recent renovation to rejuvenate its already award winning reputation. In 2003 they received the impressive distinction of being in the Top 500 Hotels in the World by Traveler Magazine.
This resort’s vast amenities boast three restaurants, an outdoor bar, 25 championship tennis courts, a fitness center and a full service spa. Many avid golfers are attracted to the resort due to their selection of three golf courses on the property designed by the famed Jones, Fazio and Hills. They offer golf packages that include lodging, dining and golf with the choice of several excellent courses. Guests can enjoy canoeing and fishing on three miles of inland lagoons. Bike rentals are available with 50 miles of paved riding trails to wander through this beautiful island and its beaches.
Spa Soleil provides numerous services for relaxation and alleviation of stress. Facials can range from 25 to 80 minutes. Play it simple with a foot massage or scalp treatment or go all out with the deep tissue or stone massage. The nail treatments and waxing are very popular, as are their choice of packages with combined services. A visit to this spa makes a great birthday gift, fun girl outing or a unique experience for couples.
Guest rooms are very close to the beach, and provide spectacular views of either the island, resort, ocean or beachfront. Depending on your needs, the Hilton Head Island Marriott has several terrific room choices that all deserve mention. Corner King rooms give the closest views of the ocean with an extended sitting area. Island King Suites render a pleasant view of the resort from the main building. Firework shows during the summer can be seen from their balconies. Floors 8-10 of the main tower are home to the Executive Suites with full views of the Atlantic Ocean. Grand Hospitality Suites on floors 8-10 of the main building also have full views of the ocean, while offering a very spacious parlor area with two separate balconies. Up-scale Vice Presidential Suites also look out over the beach and ocean from dual balconies. Their parlor area measures an elaborate 42 x 17 feet and the dining table seats up to eight people. Finally, at the top of the list is the Presidential Suite which is, of course, the largest of all the rooms. It is located on the 5th floor of the hotel’s South Wing. Just the parlor is about the size of three regular guestrooms. This luxurious room has it’s own private sauna and jacuzzi, a full size refrigerator, wet bar and microwave, along with multiple terraces.
Marriott has also created quite a selection of dining choices within their resort. The Cafe at the Hilton Head Marriott is a great casual place to begin the day with breakfast or to enjoy a light lunch. Ocean Blu supplies a casual outdoor oceanfront location for stimulating afternoon fare and tropical drinks. Conroy’s is the newly renovated fine dining restaurant at the resort, named after the author Pat Conroy. Under the direction of a Sous Chef, they prepare spectacular steaks, crab cakes to die for and many other wonderful selections. The Lounge is located next to Conroy’s where guests relax and partake of their favorites beer, wine or mixed drinks. And we cannot forget the appropriately named Liquid. Whether the name comes from being positioned next to the cool liquid waters of the pool, or from the great selection of tropical drinks they offer, guests are appreciative of the opportunity for a refreshing snack or drink as they enjoy watching the flat screen TV’s.
The Hilton Head Marriott Resort and Spa seems to please guests of all ages. Couples, families, elderly travelers and groups of all sizes find these accommodations to be welcoming and enjoyable.
